Fresno Fair Band Review Itinerary and Information

 

 

Fresno Fair Band Review – Fresno Fair Grounds – Marching Band

Date: Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Dress: For Performance – Marching band Uniform: Black marching shoes, black socks, black tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt, blue cummerbund, and bow tie. Girl’s hair must be put up in a ponytail or bun.

After Performance – Students should wear their Clark Band Shirt, if they don’t have a Clark band shirt yet then any Clark Spirit wear will do. This helps us identify our students while they are in the fairgrounds. All CUSD dress code still applies. We are representing Clark and Clovis Unified the entire day.

Buses cannot stay during this parade because they have to go do after school runs. Therefore, the students need to either wear their clothes they want to change into underneath their uniform or change in the bathrooms inside the fairgrounds after the performance and have a backpack to keep their uniform in.

Location: Fresno Fair Grounds, See below for parade route.

Food: Students will eat lunch at school. We will depart at the end of lunch. Students will either need to bring a sack dinner as well or money to purchase food inside the fair for dinner.

Times:  11:55am – Eat Lunch and Change into Uniform

12:30pm – Meet in the Band Room, load buses/truck

12:45pm – Depart Clark

1:15pm – Arrive/Warm Up

2:00pm – Move to the street and prepare for performance

2:10pm – Performance time (see map below for performance location)

2:17pm – Percussion Performance time (see map below for performance location)

3:00pm – Free Time in Fair with Chaperones

5:00pm – Awards Ceremony in the Brian I. Tatarian Grandstand (Race track where performance was)

6:15pm – Buses departs fairgrounds to return to Clark

6:45pm – Arrive back at Clark

Family Dinner Night – Tuesday 9/26/17 – Panda Express, Herndon and Fowler

Our first Family Dinner Night Fundraiser will be on Tuesday September 26th. ALL DAY you can go to the Panda Express on Herndon and Fowler, show the attached flyer either hard copy or electronically and 20% of what you spend on your meal will come back to the Clark Intermediate Instrumental Music Program!

Booster Meeting – 9/11 @ 6pm

Our first Booster Meeting for this year will be Monday September 11th starting at 6pm in the Clark band room. All parents of orchestra, color guard, percussion, and band students are welcome and encouraged to get involved.

-Calendar of events/Volunteer Needs
-Fundraisers Throughout the year
As a reminder from 4-5pm on that same day students will be able to check out a uniform if they have not done so already.

Back to School Parent Meeting

We will be having our Clark Instrumental Music Program back to school parent meeting on Friday August 18th from 6-7pm in the Clark Cafeteria.
We will discuss the functions of our various music programs, how you as a parent can be involved and stay connected, and your students will be able to be sized and check out their uniform for the year.
I am in need of a 4-8 parents that would be willing to skip the meeting portion of the evening and help with uniform fitting/checking out. If you are available please email me christopherwatson@cusd.com and show up to the band room at 5:30pm on Friday to get set up and for me to explain the process briefly.
