Band Picture Day – Friday November 17th

Band Pictures – During School – All Bands

Date: Friday, November 17, 2017

**Dress: For Pictures For 0 Period: Marching band Uniform: Black marching shoes, black socks, black tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt, blue cummerbund, and bow tie. Girl’s hair must be put up in a ponytail or bun. For Concert Bands/Jazz Bands: Girls will need to bring their concert dress or whatever they will be wearing for concert band performances.

Location: 0 Period: Gym, All other class period: Cafeteria  

Times:  0 Period – Marching Band and Color Guard pictures

              3rd Period – Jazz Bands (4th Period Jazz band will need to come to this period for pictures)

              4th Period – Concert Band (7th period brass and percussion classes will need to come to band during this period pictures)

              6th Period – Symphonic Band and Percussion

 

 

CUSD Band Night Itinerary and Information      

 

CUSD Band Night – Buchannan HS, Veterans Memorial Stadium – All Bands

Date: Thursday, November 16, 2017

Dress: For Performance – Marching Band Uniform: Black marching shoes, black socks, black tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt, blue cummerbund, and bow tie. Girl’s hair must be put up in a ponytail or bun. **Bring a warm jacket or sweatshirt for after the performance. We will store them in a cart while performing.

Location: Buchannan High School, Veterans Memorial Stadium

Times:  4:00pm – Meet in the Band Room, dressed in full uniform

4:30pm – Depart Clark

5:00pm – Arrive/Warm Up

5:45pm – Mix With Clovis High/Prepare for National Anthem Performance

6:10pm – Mass Band performs The Star Spangled Banner on the field

6:25pm – Clark’s Performance Time

8:25pm – Clovis High’s Performance Time

9:05pm – End of event

9:30pm – Buses Depart Buchannan HS

9:45pm – Arrive back at Clark. EVERYONE MUST HELP UNLOAD AND CLEAN THE BAND ROOM

Check Out: Students may be checked out in the stands after we have performed and the whole band has made it to their seats in the stands. I is highly encouraged that you stay and watch Clovis High’s performance.

Thursday –  November 2nd , 2017

 

10:15am – Clark Jazz A meets in the band room

10:30am   – Depart Clark Intermediate

10:55am – Arrive at Bullard High School in Fresno

11:25am – Clark Warms up to perform

11:45am – 12:15 pm – Clark Performance and workshop in Bullard High School Theatre

12:15pm – Clark eats lunch

12:45pm -1:30pm – Clark watches Bullard H.S. A Jazz ensemble in their performance and workshop

1:35pm – Clark Departs Bullard High School

2:00pm – Clark arrives at Clark Intermediate – unload and go to class

Date: Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Dress: For Performance – Marching band Uniform: Black marching shoes, black socks, black tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt, blue cummerbund, and bow tie. Girl’s hair must be put up in a ponytail or bun.

After Performance – Students will change back into their school clothes when we return to Clark

Location: Old Town Clovis, We will line up at Weldon Elementary School

Times:  7:35am – Meet in the Band Room, dressed in full uniform

7:45am – Depart Clark for Weldon Elementary School

8:00am – Arrive/Warm Up

8:30am – Move to the street and prepare for performance

9:00am – Parade Step off time

9:45am – Buses depart from Weldon to return to Clark

10:00am – Arrive back at Clark.

Family Dinner Night – Chipotle – Sierra Vista Mall

Our next Family Dinner Night will be at the Chipotle in the Sierra Vista Mall on Thursday October 19, 2017 from 5pm-9pm. This fundraiser has the potential to make a lot of money because it is a 50% profit margin. Please plan on eating dinner at Chipotle on this night any time between 5pm-9pm, last year we made almost $2000 in one night!

Fresno Fair Band Review Itinerary and Information

 

 

Fresno Fair Band Review – Fresno Fair Grounds – Marching Band

Date: Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Dress: For Performance – Marching band Uniform: Black marching shoes, black socks, black tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt, blue cummerbund, and bow tie. Girl’s hair must be put up in a ponytail or bun.

After Performance – Students should wear their Clark Band Shirt, if they don’t have a Clark band shirt yet then any Clark Spirit wear will do. This helps us identify our students while they are in the fairgrounds. All CUSD dress code still applies. We are representing Clark and Clovis Unified the entire day.

Buses cannot stay during this parade because they have to go do after school runs. Therefore, the students need to either wear their clothes they want to change into underneath their uniform or change in the bathrooms inside the fairgrounds after the performance and have a backpack to keep their uniform in.

Location: Fresno Fair Grounds, See below for parade route.

Food: Students will eat lunch at school. We will depart at the end of lunch. Students will either need to bring a sack dinner as well or money to purchase food inside the fair for dinner.

Times:  11:55am – Eat Lunch and Change into Uniform

12:30pm – Meet in the Band Room, load buses/truck

12:45pm – Depart Clark

1:15pm – Arrive/Warm Up

2:00pm – Move to the street and prepare for performance

2:10pm – Performance time (see map below for performance location)

2:17pm – Percussion Performance time (see map below for performance location)

3:00pm – Free Time in Fair with Chaperones

5:00pm – Awards Ceremony in the Brian I. Tatarian Grandstand (Race track where performance was)

6:15pm – Buses departs fairgrounds to return to Clark

6:45pm – Arrive back at Clark

Family Dinner Night – Tuesday 9/26/17 – Panda Express, Herndon and Fowler

Our first Family Dinner Night Fundraiser will be on Tuesday September 26th. ALL DAY you can go to the Panda Express on Herndon and Fowler, show the attached flyer either hard copy or electronically and 20% of what you spend on your meal will come back to the Clark Intermediate Instrumental Music Program!

Booster Meeting – 9/11 @ 6pm

Our first Booster Meeting for this year will be Monday September 11th starting at 6pm in the Clark band room. All parents of orchestra, color guard, percussion, and band students are welcome and encouraged to get involved.

As a reminder from 4-5pm on that same day students will be able to check out a uniform if they have not done so already.

Back to School Parent Meeting

We will be having our Clark Instrumental Music Program back to school parent meeting on Friday August 18th from 6-7pm in the Clark Cafeteria.
We will discuss the functions of our various music programs, how you as a parent can be involved and stay connected, and your students will be able to be sized and check out their uniform for the year.
I am in need of a 4-8 parents that would be willing to skip the meeting portion of the evening and help with uniform fitting/checking out. If you are available please email me christopherwatson@cusd.com and show up to the band room at 5:30pm on Friday to get set up and for me to explain the process briefly.
